Xaviera Hollander was born on June 15, 1943 in Soerabaja, Indonesia and she is a famous author from Netherland.

Biography and Career:

Hollander belongs to Dutch Jewish father and a French-German mother. In her early 20's she moved to South Africa and engaged to Carl Gordon an American economist but due to some reasons her engagement was broken off and she moved to New York.


In 1968 she was working as a call girl after some time she opened her own brothel and became New York City's leading madam. In 1971 she was arrested by New York police for prostitution.


In 1971 she published a short biography The Happy Hooker: My Own Story. She authored this memoir with Robin Moore and Yvonne Dunleavy. This book was considered as a positive writing about sex and became a landmark. She explained her life in detail in this memoir. She became popular after the publication of this memoir.


Hollander has written number of books and produced plays. Her latest book is Child No More in which she details the heart felt story of loosing her mother. In 1970 she recorded an album titled Xaviera for the Canadian GRT Records on which she discussed about sex and prostitution.
